And Baby Makes Five

And Baby Makes Five

It’s been a few weeks since you’ve heard from me. As someone new to the blogosphere, I didn’t write ahead and schedule posts for the time that I knew I wouldn’t be in any position to write. Eh, So What, right!? :-)

I ended up leaving work a few weeks early on disability; It was nothing too serious, and I wasn’t relegated to bed rest, thankfully. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a childcare situation develop (aka no childcare) a couple weeks prior to that so life in our household was a bit chaotic to put it mildly. I was big, slow, uncomfortable, and cranky – due to any of the preceding reasons or the poor sleep I was getting; take your pick or just chalk it up to pregnancy in general. The silver lining was that I was able to spend some unexpected extra time with my boys prior to the arrival of their new sibling.

On the morning of Saturday, June 28 we were blessed by the birth of a surprise baby girl. We had a lovely homebirth, and we wouldn’t do anything differently. I spent nearly two full weeks resting, recuperating, and bonding with our daughter. At 3 weeks postpartum, life is about to get more interesting as I figure out how to find my groove with all three kids — alone.

While I was resting and nursing our precious baby girl, I realized I have a lot more to do in the way of introductions around here. I plan to introduce you to the Treatmaker Dad, Camden, Holden and our newest family member, Everleigh. I also realized there are volumes of topics I hope to make the time to share. I’ll do my best as I enter this new phase of parenthood. In the meantime, you can follow my circus on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (links are either at the bottom of the page, or in the sidebar, depending on how you’re accessing this website).

Until next time…
